Throne of Glass is。。。 fine。 I think perhaps if I had read this before reading her ACOTAR series， I would have liked it more。 But after knowing now what she's capable of as a writer， TOG felt a little flat to me。 I think it was her debut， though， so she definitely improved her craft over time。 The world in this one felt derivative， and despite the book touching on the perspectives of a few of the characters， I felt like I didn't really know or care about many of them。 I liked Chaol and Nehemia th Throne of Glass is。。。 fine。 I think perhaps if I had read this before reading her ACOTAR series， I would have liked it more。 But after knowing now what she's capable of as a writer， TOG felt a little flat to me。 I think it was her debut， though， so she definitely improved her craft over time。 The world in this one felt derivative， and despite the book touching on the perspectives of a few of the characters， I felt like I didn't really know or care about many of them。 I liked Chaol and Nehemia the most。Honestly， Celaena's character made no sense to me， ha。 After emerging from enslavement in the mines， I would think the opulence and willful blindness she saw around her would make her angrier。 This is mentioned maybe once or twice， but instead of being p*ssed， she seems to mostly give into it。 This is one of those books where her back story sounded *way* more interesting; I wish the book had been about that， lol。Also， at times Celaena's character strays a little close to the "she's not like all the other （silly） women。。。" To be fair， I don't think SJM intended it that way。 Knowing her later books， she always has a ton of complex， bad a$$ female characters。 Celaena is a woman in a man's world/livelihood， but it's just a little much when Dorian makes some comment about how he just can't stand the silly women vying for him or something。 It was just a bit of an eye roll for me。That all being said， I'm giving the next book a shot because I hear the series gets really good！ 。。。more

in my opinion， the book bombarded many with lots of information and made most concepts hard to grasp。 how-ever knowing Sarah J Maas was 16 when she wrote this book is excellent， and the grammar， storyline， etc。 Were fantastic。 Overall tough to get through some of the chapters but looking forward to better in the "Crown of Midnight"！ in my opinion， the book bombarded many with lots of information and made most concepts hard to grasp。 how-ever knowing Sarah J Maas was 16 when she wrote this book is excellent， and the grammar， storyline， etc。 Were fantastic。 Overall tough to get through some of the chapters but looking forward to better in the "Crown of Midnight"！ 。。。more
